Where Eagles Meet: Eagle Point Resort (Anilao, Batangas)

A name is a powerful tool that evokes certain images. The image could be good or bad, but if you’re marketing something, you try to evoke something positive. Take an eagle, for instance. It’s a symbol of strength and power, used in the US emblem and designated as the Philippine national bird. It’s also a symbol of freedom, with an eagle’s powerful wings gliding through the open sky. Climbing Mt. Pulag, Benguet Province

I have sentiments about climbing a mountain for the second time. C’mon, this country is sprawled lengthwise on a section of the Pacific Ring of Fire and volcanoes are strung to its length like beads on a rosary. Why should I climb a mountain for the second time when there are numerous mountains sprawled everywhere that I haven’t been to or even know existed? Continue reading Climbing Mt. Giant Lanterns of San Fernando, Pampanga

It’s a spectacle you should not miss! A showcase of Filipino ingenuity, San Fernando’s giant lanterns never fail to bedazzle the crowd! Watch twelve barangays battle it out with their 18-foot lanterns, each with at least 5,000 light bulbs, on December 16 (this was posted way back in 2006), Saturday, 7 p.m. at SM City Pampanga, City of San Fernando. Check out a previous entry on the festival here. Continue reading Giant Lanterns of San Fernando, Pampanga

Parasailing in Boracay Island

The Boracay breeze must have frozen my brain that morning . . . or maybe it was the Jona’s watermelon shake . . . or maybe it was my desire to check out the gorgeous bodies littered along the entire beachfront all at the same time. I was rather surprised how calm I was when I decided to tempt fate and go para-sailing. I did not even think twice; well, I stopped for a moment to consider the cost. . . seems unreasonable because you go up for under fifteen minutes only…but heck, it’s not everyday that I get this chance. Visit Pinas: Visit the Philippines

We could very well post travel logs in our own sites. Still, with a sense of community, promoting travel to and in our country is much easier and more meaningful. This is where we join our fellow Filipinos in exploring the Philippines – its beauty should be enjoyed by Filipinos. This is also a site where we invite non-Filipinos to visit the Philippines. If you love to travel (or would want to write something about why everyone should visit a place, see or do something, somewhere in the Philippines), then you’re most welcome in this collaborative site. Please feel free to share your Philippine travel logs and invite others to join the group, and, of course, visit the Philippines. Continue reading Visit Pinas: Visit the Philippines
