The Grapes of La Union (and the Model): Photo of the Day

“One sweet escape,” goes the photo caption by Erwin, a Kapuso engineer and an Adamsonian. We tried to ask for a bit of description for this photo, but we didn’t get any (yet), so we’ll use our Sherlock Holmes prowess. This one is in Bauang, La Union. In our previous post (Welcome to the Grapes Capital of the Philippines), we said that we didn’t realize grapes thrived in the Philippines since the early 1970s. The focus in the previous article are the grapes, this one on the person, most likely his significant other. The clue? Just check the next photo in Erwin’s account, with those smiles that can only mean one thing — they want a lovely pose, er, they’re in love (check his Instagram account, @erwinnavalle, for more photos). This only supports our view that travel is really not about the destination, but about emotions. Stay happy, guys! (And keep on snapping beautiful photos of the Philippines). Barkada Goals and the Beautiful Philippines: Photo of the Day

We’ve posted a lot of beach photos recently, and thought it would be nice to have a little change of scenery. Barkada photos, perhaps? There’s an abundance of #squadgoals in social media. We noticed a  squad photo with the #visitpinas tag, except that it’s shot on, uhm, a beach. Back to where we started, the beach (you guys mind tagging us with your barkada photos outside the beach?). Then we thought, hey, the message is clear — you can try all you want, but you can’t escape the world-famous beaches of the Philippines. You can run, but you can’t hide. This photo at Macampao Beach Resort and Leisure Farm, Sta. Rita, Zambales, is courtesy of Rodel Flordeliz, who happens to be a video editor and is also known as (whoah!) DJ Flynn Ryder at Wish107.5 (check his Instagram account, @rodelflordeliz, for more photos).  [Click the photos to enlarge.] Continue reading Barkada Goals and the Beautiful Philippines: Photo of the Day

7 Reasons Why You Must Visit DreamPlay (City of Dreams Manila)

DreamPlay or Kidzania? That was the mind-boggling decision we had to make one sunny weekday. Based on what we’ve heard at that point in time, Kidzania is a nice place that allows kids to “work” as firemen, cashiers and the like, while DreamPlay is closer to a traditional amusement park. Each one has its own virtues, we know, but because we wanted something more physically challenging that day, we chose DreamPlay. While sitting at the restaurant section of DreamPlay, we thought of 7 reasons why we must come back here — the same reasons why you should visit DreamPlay.
