Sunset at Stilts Calatagan Beach Resort

We’ve seen flamingos, with their long, slender legs sticking out high above the water. In the Philippine setting, because we haven’t seen flamingos in this side of the equator, we’ve seen herons, their long, slender legs similarly sticking out ricefield paddies, their white bodies reflected by the calm waters. Replace the heron, or the pink flamingos, with white cottages that glow orange-red with the glorious sunset, and you have the Stilts Calatagan Beach Resort. The Beautiful Sunset of Calatagan

A picture paints a thousand words, it is said. For this reason, the original idea for this post is to let the photos speak for themselves sans any descriptive text. This is hard to do, we’ve realized, not because no naked article had ever been posted in VisitPinas. Impossible, really, because the golden sunset of Calatagan cannot be fully appreciated by merely looking at the the photographs. The sunset has to be experienced; it has to be lived. Golden Sunset (Calatagan, Batangas)

The golden-reddish sun must have thought that the one-hour waiting period was enough sacrifice for us restless travelers who consider time as gold. A precious few minutes before vanishing into the mountain range surrounding Calatagan, the heavy rain clouds that cloaked the sun for the past hour gently lifted.
