karen, if you arrive at past 7 am, then you'd have to wait for the afternoon balloon flight (there's one in the morning and one in the afternoon). In between that, you won't see hot air balloons in the air. Don't worry because there are various shows and activities, so better check the program (and there are a lot of food stands so you won't get hungry). If you can't make it before 7, just go in the afternoon schedule. Enjoy!

i saw from another website that the balloons will start flying as early as 530 am til 7am. What if we arrive past 7am? will there be any chance that we'll be still seeing some balloons in the air?

renee, thanks for the kind words. Feb. 14 is fast approaching, so better hurry with the preparations for the trip to the Balloon Festival. And happy birthday!

By the way, Marites is asking (in another post) for directions to clark -- by public transport. It would be appreciated by everyone. Thanks in advance. Just in case anyone is asking when is the schedule of the 15th International Hot Air Balloon Festival, it's from February 12-14, 2010.

Well said! Thanks for the info. Actually I was planning last year to go with my hubby but due to some problems, we were not able to be there. But this year, I am really sure that I'll witness this event on the last day which falls on February 14, my birthday. =)

Hi, Fred
We do have a certain Filipina reporter working for a foreign-owned TV channel, the newest one. I think you'd know who she is and which foreign TV English Channel. Anyway, she drives me mad when she reports, non-stop about downtrodden Pinoys, the kidnapping, the abuse, the squatters, etc. i mean, she is all doom and gloom. In my opinion, she has NO voice at all what to report when she is sent to the capital or other parts of the country. She is told to just report the negative bits...and somehow, she does it ---and soooo often, too----that somehow, I get the feeling, she is like a ragdoll that just nods infinitely. Would she bother reporting the good, wondrous things about our country? I still have to see her "succumb" to the enormity of being told to do so. After all, she probably gets paid to do negative reports only about our beloved Pinas, and that, Fred, is something truly annoying.
Mabuhay! Pinas!

Hill, maybe this is not one of those news stories that sell. But judging from the jampacked people that went there and the overflowing parking lot, I could say that awareness is at a respectable level. From the other side of the fence, the only time I'm interested with foreign air shows is when a plane crashes....sad, but it drives home the point that we're not having it that bad. Anyway, if they're not interested in publicizing the event, we could do something about it -- like posting it in our blogs. DocGelo mentioned that he did the same thing in his blog. In fact, I first learned about the Balloon Fiesta through another blog. Just doing our little ways to help. =)

Hi, Fred,

What a lovely day to spend Valentine's Day---watching those colourful balloons take flight right in that country. However, the international media wasn't interested in this sort of thing. Hmmm? Is it because it didn't have the usual formula of poverty, MILF, political corruption? Shame this sort of publicity didn't show up for people abroad to know that we do have that sort of event there. How can we convince the international media to publicize this event, i.e., CNN,BBC, Sky? Fred, just dreaming, of course. Mabuhay!

docGelo, small world. Who knows you're one of those I've seen who can't seem to get their cameras off the balloons. =) Anyway, thanks for dropping. You forgot to provide the link to your blog so we could also check your photos. More people should see it next time.
