National Regular and Special Holidays for 2008 in the Philippines
There are a number of factors when planning a vacation. Others who want a more relaxed and not-so-crowded vacation would want to have it when others are not on vacation. One of the factors to consider, therefore, is the date of holidays, primarily on account of the “holiday economics” in the form of long weekends (on the other hand, it would be handy to have the list for those who may want to know what are the expected long weekends).
With that, let’s list down the national holidays for 2008, under RA 9492:
National Regular Holidays:
New year’s Day - January 1, 2008)
Maundy Thursday - March 20, 2008
Good Friday - March 21, 2008
Eid’l Fitr (Feast of Ramadhan) - Movable date
Araw ng Kagitingan (Bataaan and Corregidor Day) - Monday nearest April 9 (April 7, 2008)
Labor Day - Monday nearest May 1
Independence Day - Monday nearest June 12
National Heroes Day - Last Monday of August (August 25, 2008)
Bonifacio Day - Monday nearest November 30 (December 1, 2008)
Christmas Day - December 25, 2008
Rizal Day - December 30, 2008
Nationwide Special Holidays:
Ninoy Aquino Day - Monday nearest August 21
All Saints Day - November 1, 2008
Last Day of the Year - December 31, 2008
