Fabulous desserts. Fabulous cakes. That’s how Conti’s Pastry Shop & Restaurant say in its menu. And if the photos are enough to induce a mouth-watering craving, it describes one of our favorites: Layers of wafer, cream and fresh mangoes coated with whipped cream icing topped with fresh mangoes and drizzled with chocolate syrup.
For many of us who are allergic to long sentences (but not mangoes), allow me to shorten and emphasize the ingredients that make up the Mango Bravo. Wafer. Not only one layer, but layers of wafer. Cream. Lots of it. Plus whipped cream icing. Chocolate syrup. Mangoes, fresh mangoes.
Put them together and what do we get? No, not sweet heaven. It’s Conti’s Mango Bravo.
We found it extremely difficult to take photos of the food and the place. One, people are engrossed with their food, happily eating with their family, and it seems rude to intrude into their dining experience with the click of the camera. Few photos. Not good angles.
Two, we always enjoy the Mango Bravo, so much so that we almost forgot to take photos. Truth be told, this is the ONLY item in the menu that we order at Conti’s. Of course this should not be taken as an indication of the quality of the rest of the food in Conti’s (because we have not tried them yet).
Ah, Mango Bravo. Fabulous. (Share your opinion on how the Mango Bravo tastes though the comment section below.)
