Jump for Joy: Philippine Travel Stories

People do different things when they’re happy. Some people laugh heartily. Others clap their hands. Still others go jump for joy. We’ve noticed photos (posted in Instagram with our tag or bearing #visitpinas) showing jump shots framed by beautiful Philippine travel destinations.

Malamawi White Beach

You probably haven’t heard of Malamawi White Beach. We certainly have not, unfortunately. Now we know that Malamawi White beach is a small inhabited island around a kilometer from Isabela, Basilan, off the southern tip of the Philippines. We’re almost sure that older people will fear this place, but millennials appear to brave the trip to this white-sand beach. Ahh, millennials. What do they have to say? In the words of Juan Saludes (check his Instagram account, @paandar.win, for more photos): “We, millenials, are often mis-labeled as instant-gratification-seeking experience junkies, who care only about our Instagram likes, and are too busy buying avocado toast to worry about buying a house. But, frankly, we’re too busy seeing the world to care.” You might disagree with what he said, but we’re sure he won’t care.

Wanna Try my Kung Fu?

This photo is not from a kung fu master. While EA Policarpio may look like a kung fu master in this photo, he’s a civil engineer who’s into fitness, music, sports, travel, and photography. Also a jump shot lover, we may add. We love his caption: “If obstacles are high, jump higher.” Nice one. On the other hand, we thought, “If obstacles are high, why not go around it?” Well, walang basagan ng trip. This photo was snapped at Mt. 387-Batong, Amats, Puncan, Nueva Ecija. Check his Instagram account, @edgrallan, for more photos.

Bucari Sweat

We really need not add to the description given by Jee Free: “With its high altitude, cool climate, strawberry and pine tress, Bucari in the municipality of Leon, province of Iloilo is dubbed as the summer capital of Western Visayas.” Check his Instagram account, @iamjeefree, for more photos.
