Fish & Co. (Trinoma)

It was a day of firsts. On the first day of 2008, we ate in one of Trinoma‘s cluster of restaurants located in what I’d like to call “The Garden”, at the 6th floor (just look for the Cinemas, then you’ll easily spot “The Garden”). It was the first time we, as a family, ate at Fish and Co. It recently opened in December and while I was there during the soft opening, for friends and suppliers, it was free. In other words, the New Year dinner was technically the first time we ate there as paying clients.

If you’re wondering where exactly it is, just follow your nose once you get to the 6th floor of TriNoMa — Cyma, Jack’s Loft, Holy Cow, Bubba Gump, TGI Fridays, Italliani’s, then, voila, Fish & Company. Let’s talk about those other great restaurants some other time. For now, let’s talk fishy.

If you’re with a date, there should really be no problem with the time waiting for the food. If you’re with a hyperactive toddler, you don’t have to worry because they’ll give you a fish-themed toy to keep the young one preoccupied.

Now, speaking of real fish, you could start with the baked oyster as appetizer, then the basic Fish and Chips. You could also go spicy with the fish with Sambal sauce (the one in the photo). The seafood marinara also tastes good. Then for beverage, you may want to try the kola tonic. (I must say this review is quite bland, which is the exact opposite to the food at Fish & Co.). Bon appetit!

* How to get to Trinoma? It’s at the north end of the MRT, located along EDSA and the corner of West Avenue/NorthAvenue in Quezon City. Taking the MRT is convenient if you consider the heavy Metro Manila traffic. Trinoma (which, by the way, stands for “TRIangle NOrth of MAnila”) is just across SM City North EDSA.
