Deep Blue in Bohol: Photo of the Day

Some places are beautiful when viewed in normal sight, even more awesome in a different perspective. Take Bohol, for instance. Bohol’s marine life, well-preserved natural wonders and cultural heritage are quite marvelous. The powdery-white sand and crystal clear waters of Bohol’s beaches are simply picture-perfect. There’s hardly any need to look for a new angle to take an awesome shot. Still, when you get a single photo showing the abrupt transition of waters covering the white sand, from transparent white to deep blue, like in this photo by wongyutom (check his Instagram acount for more photos), you’ll get a sense awe and fear in equal doses. That’s a seriously abrupt drop into deep sea. If not for that white outrigger, we would have spent a bit longer time to realize that this is not a photo of some exotic blue moon, with the usual craters and imperfections as seen from afar. This is a part of Bohol as seen from the sky. Click the photo to enlarge.
