Boracay: Beach Paradise

Is there a place where your view is gently guided from the white sand towards the light green waters, and unto the clear blue sky? Is there a place where you can frolic on the soft white sand all day and night? Yes, such place exists.

It’s called Boracay, considered as one of the best beaches in the world – not only in my book, but also by the following:World’s Best Beaches (source: Yahoo! Travel)

1. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
2. Miami, Florida
3. Cancun, Mexico
4. Kaanapali, Hawaii
5. Honolulu, Hawaii
6. San Diego, California
7. Boracay Island, Philippines
8. Key West, Florida
9. Sydney, Australia
10. Santa Barbara, California

Top 10: Beautiful Beaches (source: AskMen.com)

1. Copacabana, Brazil
2. Waikiki, Hawaii
3. Cancun, Mexico
4. Surfer’s Paradise, Australia
5. Negril, Jamaica
6. South Beach, Florida
7. Natadola Beach, Fiji
8. Boracay, Philippines
9. Tenerife, Canary Islands
10. Phi Phi, Thailand

Many say Boracay is overrated, but I have always considered it a paradise. It’s a balance between immersing in nature’s beauty and enjoying the comforts of modern life. In other words, you could drink all the booze you could drink . . . and just roll over the sand to sleep (no, I’m not drunk in this photo, but I was definitely way much lighter =).

You should consider Boracay, or other great Philippine destinations, when you think of having a vacation. Make sure to go there at least once in your lifetime. Enjoy.

  1. [...] It’s the number of places you could cram in one go, as opposed to simply soaking the beauty of a single destination. It is, as always, quantity vs. quality. I personally prefer the slow lane, like in this photo, spending time soaking the sun in Boracay. [...]

  6. [...] The “holiday economics” — which simply means moving the holidays nearest to the weekend, to have a longer vacation — was already in place when Congress passed a law “rationalizing” the celebration of national holidays. The rationale is still the same: to have a longer weekend. Holidays are moved, as a rule, to the Monday nearest the original holiday date. This is illustrated in the list of national regular and special holidays for 2008 (although as noted in that article, there are still a number of holidays not falling on a Monday). [...]

    Buenos dias desde Espana, Fred!
Hey, is that you wrapped in white talcum powder? It’s a shame we do not have that kind of white sand in this famous European resort—Marbella—in fact, in summer, the loca townhall import sand from North Africa. However much they keep the perimeters clean, raw sewage still come out from apartments and hotels. I hope Boracay does not have the same problem? Raw sewage, I mean? I’ve watched Wild On, Philippines on E! Entertainment and it was lovely to see Brook Burke promoting Boracay. My friend based in Cebu goes there for seminars, but, according to her, that place is rather expensive, and US Dollar is the currency.
let’s hope they keep that island clean, and build proper houses for the locals who live there. I mean, if those locals live in huts and the guests in posh hotels enjoy worldclass amenities, then what disparity there is…Also, the townhall authorities seem not to care that the roads where the locals live are not fixed, resurfaced, widened. No need to be there, Fred. YouTube tells me all, hehehe!
So, let’s remind those in-charge of smartening up Boracay and its surroundings to do something about the housing of the locals, as well as the roads. As for those noisy motorcycles, well, aren’t bicycles sufficient? Cheerio!

Hill, yes, that’s me covered with Boracay sand. Now that it’s summer time again, perhaps we could update that photo. The beauty of Boracay, aside from its natural beauty, is that there’s a place that fits the budget of everybody. There are expensive resorts that cater to the upper segments. On the other hand, there are other resorts that cater to the budget-conscious.
