As a Filipina born and raised in the U.S., I found myself to be a "foreigner" in my own motherland when I resided in the Philippines for about 7 years. I love and embrace my culture, but the quirks that you've elaborated in your articles are exactly the experiences I couldn't truly explain to my friends State-side. Well, I just wanted to say, "Carry on..." because I will. I'm forwarding a combination of these articles to my Filipino and non-Filipino friends alike. ;-) From a victim happy to carry the curse of the double-nickname, Tel-tel (Tel2) This artice made me laugh out loud!
